  • Develop and implement comprehensive geotechnical strategies to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement geological support systems.
  • Analyze data and identify areas for improvement to optimize return on investment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring long-term stability over stoping of haulages, crosscuts, and inclined shafts.
  • Designing and implementing support standards for main excavations, pump chambers, water dams, settlers, and hoist chambers.
  • Organizing introductory rock mechanics courses for mine production officials.
  • Identifying and implementing Rock Engineering and Strata Control best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate.
  • 5 years' operational experience at Senior Rock Engineer/Strata Control level.
  • Exposure to both Open Cast and Underground Mining environments.
  • A Code B Driver License.
  • B Eng. Mining Engineering/BSc Geology or equivalent.
