Sales Representative Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team as a Sales Representative in Durban.

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales and managing existing customers in Kwa-Zulu Natal for a well-known manufacturer of abrasives products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Performance: Take full accountability for the achievement of revenue streams, profitability, and volume growth and other key performance areas/indicators for direct accounts in the portfolio.
  • Conflict Management: Minimising and management of potential channel conflict, with the ultimate goal of eliminating conflict in this channel.
  • Process Development: Develop processes to measure, track, report, and communicate account performance in order to ensure specific focus, and utilising these processes to monitor trends, achievements, and performance against targets.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Develop reporting and monitoring mechanisms highlighting market movements to Sales and Management.
  • Penetration Strategy: Penetrating competitor markets.
  • Customer Analysis: Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis on existing and potential customers as part of the sales process.
  • Cold Calling and Growth Strategy: Conduct cold calling at new/potential customers along with a focused growth strategy at the existing customers in the allocated sales area.
  • Market Tracking and Sales Reporting: Analyse market potentials, track sales and status reports.
  • Sales Budgets: Meet and exceed sales budgets (volume & revenue).
  • Business Relationships: Establish, promote, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Adherence to Company Policy: Ensure adherence to company policy and procedures while maintaining integrity and sound business practices.
  • Customer Servicing: Servicing and further development of existing customer base.
  • Trade Show Representation: Participation/representation at open days/trade shows with the ability to conduct physical product demonstrations.
  • Company Compliance: Comply with the company's planning, reporting, and customer management structures as determined by management.
  • Price List and Discount Structures: Adherence to the company price list and discount structures as determined by management.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure effective customer satisfaction and after sales care.
  • Presentations: Perform internal and customer-facing presentations.
  • Proposal Management: Liaise with internal office to produce client proposals and manage the delivery and follow-up of such with the client.
  • Sales Meetings and One-on-Ones: Attend monthly sales meetings and one-on-ones with the Sales Manager.
  • New Opportunities: Seeking out new opportunities constantly with both stand-alone and chain accounts within established region.
  • Service and Product Opportunities: Communicating new service and product opportunities, feedback, special developments, or information collected during field activity to the Sales Manager.
  • Sales Coordination: Coordinating with company staff to achieve the work required in closing up sales.
  • Lost Sales and Back Orders: Provide weekly feedback relating to lost sales and back orders.
  • Call Planners: Submit monthly call planners by the last week of the month for the month ahead.
  • Daily CRM Update: Daily update of CRM with visit information and telephone calls.
  • Annual Sales Plan: Shall provide a plan for their sales area annually, showing the following information:
  • Sales Data: Sales per customer in the previous year,
  • Sales Extrapolation: Sales extrapolated for the current year,
  • Sales Forecast: Sales plan for the next year,
  • Target Customers: Target customers.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Any other duty which may be assigned to you from time-to-time.
