Nelson Mandela University (NMU) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic professional to join our Mechanical Engineering faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and facilitating learning and teaching programs, conducting research, and contributing to the department's research capacity and output.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, with a Master's or Doctoral degree in the field. They will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering high-quality teaching programs, including lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
- Conducting research in areas related to Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on drone technology and renewable energy.
- Contributing to the department's research capacity and output, including publishing papers in reputable journals and presenting at conferences.
- Supervising postgraduate students and projects, and mentoring students to develop their academic and practical skills.
- Participating in departmental and faculty meetings, and contributing to the development of academic programs and policies.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong background in the field.
