Job DescriptionThis role involves partnering with other departments to improve the legal services rendered to the company, as well as playing a support role to the Legal Services' General Manager.
Responsibilities- Manage External Collections: Work closely with departments to enhance external collections management.
- Support Copyright Infringement Action: Provide strategic support in copyright infringement action and litigation.
- Negotiate and Manage Contracts: Collaborate on contract negotiation, vetting, drafting, and management.
- Offer Expert Legal Advice: Offer expert legal opinions, advice, and queries.
- Develop Risk Management Strategies: Develop and implement effective legal risk management and compliance strategies.
- Advocate for Legislation: Support legislative advocacy and lobbying efforts.
- A postgraduate qualification such as LLM would be advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years' relevant experience.
- 3 years music industry experience.
- 1 year compliance/risk management experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to manage stakeholders (attorneys, legal consultants, service providers).
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent computer skills (including word processing and spreadsheet packages).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of copyright law is preferable.
- Experience with employment law matters is preferable.
