We are seeking an Automation Tester to join our Technology team at Rentoza, a forward-thinking e-commerce company based in South Africa. As an Automation Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our platforms and financial service applications.

The Role:

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test cases to detect and resolve software defects. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and security of web and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and create test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools, ensuring timely resolution by the development team.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, user acceptance, and performance testing to ensure systems meet business requirements.
  • Utilize tools like Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Postman, and others for automation and performance testing.
  • Implement and maintain test automation frameworks to support continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD) pipelines.
  • Validate APIs and data integrity in systems involving financial transactions.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and tools in software testing and apply them to improve test processes.
  • Contribute to the improvement of quality assurance standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in automation testing.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Cypress.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
  • Knowledge of SQL for database testing and validation.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Adaptable and eager to learn new tools and techniques.
