We are seeking a seasoned Purchasing Director to lead our procurement efforts at The Levelup Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development and execution of procurement strategies that align with our business objectives. They will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Leadership: Drive the development and execution of procurement strategies.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with suppliers to drive value.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favourable contracts and terms with suppliers.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Cost Control: Administer procurement budgets and drive cost-efficient purchasing.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured materials meet company standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in procurement (preferably in building supplies/construction).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the building supplies market and trends.
  • Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker, detail-oriented, problem-solver, and able to perform under pressure.
