  • Assist during Department of Labour investigations or audits as necessary.
  • Ensure all contractors and subcontractors adhere to relevant health and safety standards as mandated by legislation and company policies.
  • Promote active participation in safety, health, and environmental (SHE) initiatives among employees.
  • Facilitate SHE Committee meetings to discuss safety matters and improvements.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address non-compliance regarding safety and health practices.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on safety, health, and environmental statistics.
  • Create necessary SHE documentation templates.
  • Compile SHE reports as required for management review.
  • Conduct monthly internal audits to ensure adherence to legal safety requirements.
  • Manage and report on NOSA audits as required, ensuring compliance with audit findings.
  • Update documentation based on findings from NOSA audits.
  • Provide guidance on changes in legislation and legal obligations related to health and safety.
  • Participate in disciplinary actions for employees who fail to comply with safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Registration with the SACPCMP.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications.
  • Qualification in incident and accident investigation.
  • Risk Assessor certification.
  • Qualification in fall protection planning/development.
  • Certification in Working at Heights (minimum level 2).
  • Competence in working in confined spaces.
  • Experience or valid certification in fall protection planning.
  • First Aid Level 2 certification (previous or valid).
  • Experience in rope access techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of lifting and rigging operations.
  • HIRA certification.
  • SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
