Your primary responsibility will be to provide business development and product consultation for the Factory Automation portfolio, with a focus on SCADA solutions in South Africa and surrounding markets. This includes working with WinCC Professional, WinCC Unified, WinCC V7 / 8, Braumat, WinCC OA and IPC's.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales organization in approaching and serving potential customers by advising them on capabilities and options for using and integrating Siemens' offerings effectively (Simatic WinCC, TIA Portal, S7 products).
- Consult with stakeholders to integrate Siemens' products and provide strategic, commercial and organizational recommendations.
- Create technical and commercial concepts and offerings to support the sales process.
- Plan and complete consulting assignments to industry partners on technical and commercial levels.
- Take responsibility for new orders or consulting projects.
- Support the sales organization in contract negotiations at all stages with information and analyses.
- May identify and develop business opportunities and innovate the consulting portfolio.
- Provide technical assistance to focused customers.
- Develop and present PLC / SCADA solution proposals, including estimating, compiling bill of materials, system architecture diagrams and RFP / RFQ responses.
- Provide customers and account representatives with strategy and solution advice and support during Pre-Sales discussions on PLC / SCADA solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years' project experience in the Industrial Automation industry.
- Computer / Electronic / Electrical engineering degree or diploma.
- Technically involved in recent PLC / SCADA project is mandatory.
- General understanding of IT networking and remote communication, including GPRS & 3G communication, modems, private APNs, VPNs, routers, LANs, WANs, VLANs, firewalls.
- Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet and MODBUS.
- Previous experience working with JAVA, SCADA and PLC platforms, including Siemens technology (Advantageous).
- Must have a basic understanding of industrial communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet and MODBUS.
- An understanding of horizontal and vertical OT / IT integration.
- Solutions thinking individual with interest in developing into Automation consultant with Focus on SCADA systems.
- Willing to travel in and outside the borders of South Africa.
- Ability to work autonomously.
