Job Overview

The Recruitment Council is seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager to lead our strategic risk management efforts in the short-term insurance industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of actuarial models and processes that accurately estimate business realities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive actuarial models to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with various business scenarios.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business objectives and actuarial strategies, as well as external stakeholders to understand market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Model Development and Deployment: Design, develop, and implement actuarial models and processes that meet business needs, ensuring timely deployment and effective monitoring.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from diverse data sources, communicate actionable recommendations to stakeholders, and design reporting strategies to support business decision-making.
  • Leadership and Direction: Motivate and lead a team of Actuarial Analysts to implement the actuarial strategy, ensuring accountability for performance objectives and talent development.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors or Honours degree in Actuarial Science or a related field; progress towards Actuarial qualification is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience in a short-term insurance environment; at least 13 years of managerial experience in resource planning and management.

Compensation:
