About this Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Operations Specialist to join our team at SCC Soft Computer. This role involves providing administrative support, managing various tasks, and contributing to departmental objectives.

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the lifecycle of new medical aid applications, from submission to closure.
  • Coordinate membership card procurement and dispatch to clients.
  • Oversee gap cover functionalities, including application processing, policy issuance, and claim resolution.
  • Support management and brokers as required.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the client portfolio to enhance departmental growth.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional administrative responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements and Experience

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare administration, specifically focusing on Medical Aid, Medical Insurance, and Gap Cover.
  2. Successful completion of the RE examination.
  3. Possession of full qualification (NQF5).
  4. Council for Medical Schemes accreditation.
  5. Licenses: Continuous Professional Development and Class of Business in Short Term Personal Lines, Health Benefits, and Life license.
  6. Bilingualism is beneficial.
  7. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  8. Detailed administrative expertise.
  9. Skilled time management and email management abilities.
  10. MS Office familiarity, particularly Excel.
  11. Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and achieve results.
  12. Able to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
