Position Overview:

We are seeking a Management Accountant who will uphold the accuracy of financial information, deliver insights for cost management, and play a key role in strategic financial planning. This position involves providing financial analysis, reporting, and planning assistance to the CFO and senior management. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation to facilitate informed decision-making and support the organization's financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses for senior management.
  • Evaluate financial performance against critical business indicators and offer insights for enhancement.
  • Create and maintain financial models to aid strategic planning and decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with department leaders to establish realistic and achievable budgets.
  • Prepare regular forecasts and variance analyses to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Monitor budget compliance and suggest corrective measures when necessary.

Cost Management:

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
  • Analyze discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures, providing detailed explanations and recommendations.
  • Implement and oversee cost control initiatives.

Strategic Planning:

  • Assist the CFO in formulating and executing long-term financial strategies.
  • Provide financial input for business cases and strategic projects.
  • Conduct financial feasibility assessments and risk evaluations for new initiatives.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Enhance and maintain internal control systems to protect company assets and ensure precise financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Present financial data to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to non-financial managers to improve their financial understanding and decision-making.

Team Collaboration and Development:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Matriculation certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or related fields.
  • Registered with SAICA, AT(SA), AGA(SA), or CA(SA).
