The Quality Assurance Department at I&J plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in all aspects of our operations. As a Laboratory Technician, you will form an integral part of this team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional quality products to our customers.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to perform routine microbiological analysis as required, working closely with the Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Conduct microbiological sample analysis using state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities, including results and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to provide expert advice on microbiological matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution of queries.
  • Validate laboratory equipment and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Evaluate the quality of media and environmental control systems, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal laboratory functioning, including calibration of equipment and inventory management.
  • Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a Microbiology laboratory or an Honours Degree.
  • An Honours Degree is advantageous.

Qualifications

A relevant qualification in Microbiology or Medical Microbiology – BSc / BTech or Food Science is essential.

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of ISO 17025 is desirable.
