Job Title: Junior Client Portfolio Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Client Portfolio Analyst to join our team at The Recruitment Council. As a key member of our Investment Management Team, you will be responsible for supporting Portfolio Managers in managing client investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new clients, including FICA compliance and liaison with client service teams.
  • Conduct suitability assessments of clients and analyze their affairs (fact-finding).
  • Prepare new client reviews and proposals, as well as client implementation plans.
  • Maintain and update client lists, provide tax statements, and calculate expected capital gains tax.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts using expected investment returns and cash needs.
  • Monitor client portfolios, preparing trade recommendations and rebalancing portfolios as necessary.
  • Attend client meetings, prepare meeting packs, notes, and minutes.
  • Provide feedback to general client queries and ad-hoc investment analysis requests.
  • Reconcile and audit client reports.
  • Prepare quarterly commentary on client portfolios.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field, preferably with honors.
  • Investment-related postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CFP or CFA) are advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in the finance/investment industry.
Skills:
  • Strong general investment knowledge, including economy, financial markets, asset classes, and portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A track record of overall integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good relationship management skills.
