Asset Optimization Technologist

Job Summary:

As an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Water Treatment Works and borehole sites. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing water production assets, including level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and commissioning of water production assets
  • Maintenance and repair of existing equipment
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as necessary
  • Provide specialist technical advice and training support to technical apprentices

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong practical understanding of operational assets and control systems, with experience working in a safe, efficient, timely, and effective manner with minimal supervision. An HNC/Level 4 education or 6+ years' experience, including a time-served apprenticeship within Control, Instrumentation, and Automation is essential. Additionally, you will need to be able to read, fault find from circuit diagrams, and have previous experience of inverter drives.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary up to £45,600 per annum depending on skills and experience
  • Standby rota payments & overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service (plus bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution
  • Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year
