Procurement Officer

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our client in a dynamic role. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage maintenance usage of spares, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  • Liaise with suppliers to negotiate best prices and secure discounts.
  • Generate purchase orders in accordance with established reorder levels, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
  • Maintain accurate data input into the maintenance cost ledger, providing valuable insights for business decisions.
  • Place orders for maintenance spares stock and non-stock items, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing downtime.
  • Follow up on spares orders and delivery due dates, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders regarding spares and deliveries, fostering strong relationships.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager to ensure alignment on spares and procurement strategies.
  • Present complete purchase orders for approval, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Organize and maintain spares bins and rack locations within the spares store, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Conduct regular stock takes of spares, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing losses.
  • Ensure the security and housekeeping of the spares store, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Capture data from daily production downtime reports, providing valuable insights for business improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date and secure maintenance files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage redundant spares stock, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory levels.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in buying or technical buying, with a strong background in procurement.
  • Technical procurement experience, particularly in the areas of tools and spares.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
