Millwright Technician

The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in factories, production plants, and recreational facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechatronics electrical engineering and millwright trade, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing domain. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Operate rigging equipment to pick and place machinery and parts, fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach and align motors, connect coupling and belts.
- Perform predictive and operational maintenance using laser alignment tooling, vibrational analysis, and destructive/non-destructive testing, service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and may do some tack welding, fabrication of machinery and equipment.
- Manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
- Identify and repair problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
- Dismantle older machines and replace them with new ones.
- Oversee preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
- Use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
- Conduct or oversee commissioning tests according to specifications.
- Inspect machines and equipment at planned intervals.
- Repair any damage or faults found.
- Perform preventative maintenance at planned intervals.
- Attend to breakdowns on machines as soon as possible.
- Install and commission systems.
- Inspect and repair any faults/hot connections on the electrical system.
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules on electrical equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance on machines, equipment, and buildings are performed on a continuous basis.
- Responsible for shutdown work and electrical maintenance on machines.
- Responsible for corrective actions in the event of breakdowns.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Mechatronics Electrical Engineering with Millwright trade Test.
- A minimum of 3 years' related working experience within a Manufacturing domain.
- Advanced Computer literacy (e.g., CAD, MS Excel).
- Must have own transport.
- Must be available to work on standby.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrate good planning and organization skills.
- Trustworthy and Honest.
- Be able to work in a pressured environment.
- Be able to understand, complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
