Job Summary:

The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in factories, production plants, and recreational facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechatronics electrical engineering and millwright trade, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing domain. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Operate rigging equipment to pick and place machinery and parts, fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach and align motors, connect coupling and belts.

  • Perform predictive and operational maintenance using laser alignment tooling, vibrational analysis, and destructive/non-destructive testing, service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and may do some tack welding, fabrication of machinery and equipment.
  • Manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.

  • Identify and repair problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
  • Dismantle older machines and replace them with new ones.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
  • Use machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.

  • Conduct or oversee commissioning tests according to specifications.
  • Inspect machines and equipment at planned intervals.
  • Repair any damage or faults found.
  • Perform preventative maintenance at planned intervals.
  • Attend to breakdowns on machines as soon as possible.
  • Install and commission systems.
  • Inspect and repair any faults/hot connections on the electrical system.
  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules on electrical equipment.
  • Ensure that maintenance on machines, equipment, and buildings are performed on a continuous basis.
  • Responsible for shutdown work and electrical maintenance on machines.
  • Responsible for corrective actions in the event of breakdowns.

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Mechatronics Electrical Engineering with Millwright trade Test.
  • A minimum of 3 years' related working experience within a Manufacturing domain.
  • Advanced Computer literacy (e.g., CAD, MS Excel).
  • Must have own transport.
  • Must be available to work on standby.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good planning and organization skills.
  • Trustworthy and Honest.
  • Be able to work in a pressured environment.
  • Be able to understand, complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
