Maintenance Technician

Farm Manager SA is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our packhouse equipment and facilities.

• Maintenance: Ensure all equipment, including fire equipment, and buildings are in good working condition and downtime is minimized.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve packhouse efficiencies and implement changes as needed.
• Preventative Maintenance: Supervise, coordinate, and plan preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Work Scheduling: Draft maintenance work schedules for equipment, machinery, and buildings, and complete job cards as required.
• Electrical Maintenance: Perform daily electrical maintenance on DC/AC systems.
• Switchgear and Fault Finding: Ensure good knowledge of switchgear and fault-finding procedures.
• New Installations: Ensure new installations are completed within time and budget, according to specifications.
• Standby Duty: Be willing to be on standby outside of working hours.

• Cost Management: Ensure costs are maintained within parameters and budget.
• Resource Management: Organize and coordinate the relevant material and human resources.

• Food Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
• Safe Working Environment: Ensure a safe working area with minimal incidents/injuries.

• Team Management: Manage high-performance teams that collaborate in pursuit of excellence and a common purpose.
• Staff Performance: Manage staff performance, discipline, and training.
• Culture and Values: Cultivate a business culture and value system based on trust to ensure long-term relationships with stakeholders.
• Scheduling: Participate in establishing work schedules and ensuring they are correctly executed.
