  • Incident Investigations: Oversee incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Documentation and Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHERQ documentation and records.
  • Client and Regulatory Engagement: Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure SHERQ requirements are met and exceeded.
  • SHERQ Document Preparation: Produce SHERQ-related documents for tender submissions.
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects from a SHERQ perspective from initiation, proposals, planning, and execution.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in or equivalent qualification (NQF 7) in SHEQ fields. A postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) will be advantageous.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional certifications in health and safety (e.g., SACPCMP) or environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in SHERQ management within the construction, engineering, or energy sectors, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • SHERQ Experience: Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing SHERQ strategies, policies, and procedures in compliance with local and international standards.
  • Risk Management: Proficient in risk management practices and techniques, with the ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and audits.
  • Quality Management: Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to drive SHERQ culture across the organization.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient Computer literacy skills, e.g., Word, Advance Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
