Critical Outputs:

  • Work within established scope of practice and knowledge base to maintain competency level.
  • Takes personal accountability for decisions made and actions taken in care delivery.
  • Ensure dental room hygiene and adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols.
  • Assist dentist in clinical procedures according to branch protocol.
  • Coordinate laboratory work including lab slips, collection, return, and casting.
  • Monitor availability of consumables and equipment in dental room and economical usage thereof.
  • Engage with concerns brought to attention to provide safe dental practices.
  • Ensure documentation is in accordance with policy and legal framework.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Dispose of medical waste, human tissue, and medicine in accordance with legislation.
