Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Execution
  • Deliver engineered packages that meet project budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Ensure that projects are executed in accordance with relevant client and company policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  1. Engineering and Design
  • Develop and implement fit-for-purpose engineering and design solutions in various industry segments.
  • Manage hours, budgets, and change/variations to enhance gross profits on projects.
  1. Technical Support
  • Provide technical support for construction, installation, and commissioning of projects.
  • Assist with the pricing of tenders and bids for various market sectors.
  1. Client Liaison
  • Liaise with clients to assess their needs, propose solutions, and provide cost estimates.
  • Compile technical enquiry packages and conduct technical tender evaluations.
  1. Vendor Management
  • Manage and interface with vendors and contractors to meet project objectives.
  • Review vendor documentation for compliance with technical requirements.
  1. Inter-Discipline Integration
  • Maintain effective inter-discipline integration with other disciplines, such as process, piping, civil, structural, and electrical departments.
  • Provide input to plant reviews, including layout, equipment placement, maintainability, and operability.
Requirements
  1. Education and Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer Certification (ECSA) required.
  1. Experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in related work within the mining/minerals/water projects environment.
  • Experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, cranes, and hoists.
  1. Skills and Abilities
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and mentor peers.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
