Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Additionally, you will oversee the operations and development of the finance department, including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.

About the Role

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for managing the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Additionally, you will oversee the operations and development of the finance department, including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement financial strategies that support business growth and success
- Manage the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Oversee the operations and development of the finance department
- Create and review policies, budget, recruit, train, and conduct regular assessments of financial procedures
- Prepare quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards, and assist with cash flow forecasting

Requirements

- Matric (Non-Negotiable) Average 65% and higher on Maths
- Preferred Honours Degree holders / Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business studies, or a related field (e.g., B.Com with Honours and completed articles). Preference will be given to applicants who qualified before or during 2012
- Qualified as CA (SA) (Non-Negotiable)
- Professional registration with SAICA is a non-negotiable requirement
- Minimum 3 years appropriate management experience in a Manufacturing or operations environment (not in Financial institutions)

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

- Demonstrates understanding of all facets of business operations and interactions, a sound working knowledge of financial management, numeracy, and attention to detail
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Strong understanding and application of SA income tax, VAT, and other tax legislation
- High level computer literacy (including MS Office / Excel)
- Working experience in a financial environment; knowledge of online computer applications (JDE)
- Demonstrates ability to prioritise and plan work, handle a diversity of tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines consistently, manage projects, and cope under pressure
- Experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants is ideal
- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork, service, integrity, and confidentiality
- Decisive and assertive with the capability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Sound working knowledge of accounting practices coupled with the ability to write advanced macros and produce high-level spreadsheets and financial modelling
