Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief People Officer - Maritime Operations to lead our onboard HR team and act as the business partner, providing expert advice to the Master of the Vessel and management team. The successful candidate will champion company values and their effective application.

MSC Cruises is a world-leading cruise line that operates in a fast-paced maritime environment. As a result, we require an experienced and proactive HR professional who can navigate complex regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective HR strategies to support the growth and success of MSC Cruises;
  • Lead the onboard HR team and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures;
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to diagnose people requirements and develop solutions that support the ship's business needs;
  • Ensure all HR services are delivered in accordance with company expectations;
  • Work closely with the Crew Office to implement processes and procedures related to personnel management;
  • Act as a neutral adviser to create a safe work environment and apply disciplinary actions consistently;
  • Investigate incidents and report findings to relevant stakeholders;
  • Support the Ship Safeguarding Officer for crew-related activations;
  • Monitor shipboard operations to ensure compliance with HR policies, regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements
  • MA in Human Resource Management or Business Administration, or equivalent experience;
  • Extensive knowledge of maritime industry regulations, laws, and MLC 2006;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint;
  • Fluent in English (C1 level) and any other language is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical insurance, retirement savings plan, and career development opportunities.
