  1. Investment Analysis:

    • Analyze investment contracts for tax, accounting, and reporting purposes.
    • Provide a quarterly performance report on the financial statements of investee firms.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of all data, transaction records, and investment paperwork.
    • Create monthly reports on investment performance for review by the investment team.
    • Ensure that interest schedules and dividend amounts are shared with the investment team.

  2. Budgeting and Reporting:

    • Prepare consolidated budgets in the annual financial statement format.
    • Assist in the analysis of valuation models for audit preparation and ensure sufficient audit evidence is available.
    • Manage external auditing procedures, correspond with auditors, and create necessary supporting documents.
    • Analyze audit reports and implement measures to minimize audit differences.

  3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare portfolio performance reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for CFO, CEO, committees, boards, and shareholders.
    • Ensure that an outside party reviews and validates the annual performance reporting.
    • Provide consistent updates on the most recent dividend projections.
    • Oversee the treasury function and provide cash flow projections.

  4. Governance and Sustainability:

    • Proactively identify potential risks/issues regarding the quality of financial data and compliance.
    • Review accounting policies and IFRS changes.
    • Develop and manage financial systems/policies and ensure their implementation.

  5. Tax Planning and Compliance:

    • Examine and file provisional and yearly tax returns.
    • Evaluate and file monthly VAT returns.

  6. IT Governance:

    • Drive digitization and automation within the Finance department.

  7. Team Dynamics:

    • Manage junior employees and oversee CA trainees.
Requirements:

Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with not less than 3 years' experience in the financial services industry.
