The role of Electrical Specialist is a key part of our operations team at Unilever.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position ensures the optimal performance and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems within the factory.

This includes conducting major maintenance activities, working closely with the Maintenance Planner to support the operation of equipment on the making and packaging floor, and training Technical Operators, Single Skilled Technicians, and Machine Operators in world-class maintenance techniques.

You'll also serve on improvement teams and assist with emergency repairs, provide support for project work and electrical needs, research ongoing problems, and perform project work as directed.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Complying with company and plant rules, participating in safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintaining and supporting electrical maintenance for making and packaging equipment.
  • Performing overhaul, repair, and maintenance tasks, including during plant shutdowns.
  • Repairing equipment breakdowns and completing work within the plant's SAP system.

Requirements include:

  • N5 Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Trade Test (or equivalent)
  • 5-10 years relevant experience in a maintenance environment
  • PLC/DCS troubleshooting
  • PC skills (SAP, Access, Outlook, Excel, Word)

Preferred qualifications include a strong background in electrical engineering and maintenance, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
