Job Title: Senior Director, Data Science

Location: Western Cape, Cape Town

Estimated Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Data Science to lead our global data science team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives across the organization, leveraging machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to address complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision & Business Alignment: Work closely with stakeholders across departments and external partners to integrate data science solutions into business processes and identify opportunities for optimization through AI/ML and advanced analytical products.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Support, mentor, and guide direct and indirect reports, continuously managing performance and professional development through regular feedback and bi-annual reviews.
  • System and Product Ownership: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and decision engines that address complex business problems.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in applying machine learning and advanced analytical techniques in a fast-paced business environment, preferably in marketing and sales optimization.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role in the Data field, with experience managing global, high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record in deploying machine learning models in production environments, with experience in Python, R, and SQL, as well as distributed cloud environments and container technologies.
