Millwright Job Description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a skilled Millwright to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining machinery to ensure maximum uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform normal and preventative maintenance on hydraulic systems, including presses, formers, pultrusion, and injection moulding.
  • Conduct normal and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, including distribution panels, control panels, heating and cooling systems, and electrical circuitry.
  • Carry out normal and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, including gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, couplings, and alignment.
  • Identify and repair faults in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform basic welding and boilermaking tasks.
  • Provide technical assistance to production and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement planned maintenance and countermeasures.
  • Assist with machine changeover and start-ups as required.

Requirements:

  • Trade-tested certificate as a qualified Millwright.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC and PLC programming on Delta and Mitsubishi systems.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical panels, and PLCs.
  • Ability to identify and repair faults in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Prepared to work overtime and standby whenever required.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Basic welding and boilermaking skills.
  • Minimum 5 years' applicable experience as a qualified Millwright.
  • PLC and VSD experience will be advantageous.
  • Induction furnace experience will be advantageous.
