We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nursing Sister to lead our geriatric care team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, overseeing daily activities, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
About the Role:
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the nursing and caring team
- Provide guidance, advice, information, and effective decision-making to the team
- Take responsibility for residents' care, as designated by the Sister in her absence
- Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for GP/Professional visits where necessary
Responsibilities:
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care is provided to our residents, including:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans
- Carrying out all nursing procedures efficiently and effectively
- Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining accurate records
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring each resident receives individualized care
Requirements:
- Valid SANC qualification/certificate
- Covid-19 Vaccination
- 5 years post-qualification experience working in hospitals or aged care facilities
- Experience overseeing a healthcare team
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritise tasks
Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits.
