Job Overview

AGC Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Expert to join an International Mining House in the Northern Cape.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning mine layouts and stopping sequences, controlling rock bursts, and designing support standards.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive mine planning strategies to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement geological support systems.
  • Analyze data and identify areas for improvement to optimize return on investment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring long-term stability over stoping of haulages, crosscuts, and inclined shafts.
  • Designing and implementing support standards for main excavations, pump chambers, water dams, settlers, and hoist chambers.
  • Organizing introductory rock mechanics courses for mine production officials.
  • Identifying and implementing Rock Engineering and Strata Control best practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate.
  • 5 years' operational experience at Senior Rock Engineer/Strata Control level.
  • Exposure to both Open Cast and Underground Mining environments.
  • A Code B Driver License.
  • B Eng. Mining Engineering/BSc Geology or equivalent.
