We are looking for an individual with expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and consolidation. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in accounting and reporting roles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements, IT14's, provisional tax returns, dividend tax returns, VAT, and withholding tax returns for various companies under management.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Prepare annual financial statements for various companies under management.
  2. Submit IT14's on e-filing.
  3. Submit provisional tax returns.
  4. Submit dividend tax returns.
  5. Reconcile and submit VAT and withholding tax returns for South African entities as well as foreign entities.
  6. Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
  7. Review bank reconciliations monthly.
  8. Process monthly general journal entries and consolidation entries.
  9. Manage and review trial balances for all reporting entities.
  10. Consolidate for all reporting entities.
  11. Reconcile general ledger and sub ledgers monthly and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  12. Compile/review monthly management accounts for all reporting entities.
  13. Perform month-end and year-end accounts system closures.
  14. Submit quarterly reporting working papers for group reporting.
  15. Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  16. Authorize payments on the system.
  17. Develop, monitor, review, and implement internal accounting and other accounting-related policies.
  18. Assist with preparing packs for board meetings and subcommittee meetings of the board.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce Honours or bachelor's degree in accounting (B. Com).
  2. Articles will be advantageous.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an accounting/reporting role.
  2. Staff management experience will be advantageous.
  3. Group reporting, taxation, and consolidation experience.
