We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Engineer to join our team as a Senior Researcher.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing medium to large sized projects that may be service or research orientated at the level of a professional engineer.
Job Description- Project Execution: Assist Head/Divisional Manager to obtain sponsored research assignments from the mining/metallurgical industry by providing specialist expertise to maximize Mintek's research contribution to the minerals industry.
- Consulting Services: Provide consulting services to clients in respect of specialist research projects by advising them on specific aspects, in order to maintain effective liaison.
- Project Management: Guide the planning, coordination and execution of the project work or experimental work to be done by applying the available theoretical knowledge, experience and expertise in such a way that the results are achieved with maximum overall efficiency.
- Experience: 3 – 5 years' post degree experience in a metallurgical role.
- Hydrometallurgical Processes: 2 years' experience in hydrometallurgical processes.
- Proposal Development: Drafting proposals that meet stakeholder objectives.
- Client Relationship Management: Client relationship management.
- Organisation and Communication: The incumbent must be highly organised, able to multi-task and pay attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Degree: Min: BSc Hons/BEng in Chemical Engineering.
- Postgraduate Degree: Ideal: MSc.
- Teamwork: Be able to work in a team.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, ability to follow up and take initiative.
- Project Management: Project management skills.
