Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Precision Metrology Specialist to join our team at Level-Up. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality 3D scanning, 3D printing, and reverse engineering services.

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining 3D scanning equipment, processing and analyzing scan data, preparing objects for scanning, and ensuring proper alignment and environmental conditions for optimal results.

You will also assist in preparing 3D print files, selecting materials, configuring machines, operating 3D printers, monitoring print progress, troubleshooting issues, and post-processing printed parts.

In addition, you will support reverse engineering projects by generating accurate 3D models from scanned data for part replication or redesign, collaborate with senior engineers to optimize designs, perform calibrations of various machines, and maintain calibration logs and documentation.

You will provide general support to the Senior Metrology Application Engineer on various projects, assist in troubleshooting technical issues, conducting testing, and data analysis as required, and help maintain and organize laboratory and workshop areas.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Matric (Grade 12) certificate;
  • A Quality Inspection Certificate (to your advantage);

Additionally, you should have experience with QC Inspection, 3D printing processes (FDM, SLA, SLS), 3D scanning technologies and equipment, CMMs, and calibration equipment. You should also have strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
