Principal Chemist Job Description

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Chemist to lead their mining operations team in Gauteng, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of chemists and technicians in the development and implementation of chemical processes for mining operations.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to address operational challenges.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to mining teams on a wide range of chemical-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in chemical processes and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Master's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
  • 10 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A PHD Qualification in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry would be advantageous
  • Proficient in SAP, MS Office, MINITAB (or similar statistical software), and LIMS.
  • Proficient in analytical techniques for chemical analysis and quality control.
  • Valid Drivers' License
