**Job Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced plumbing expert to join our team at the South African Reserve Bank. As a Senior Artisan, you will play a critical role in maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical sub-systems (wet services).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform fault-finding for mechanical sub-systems (wet services) using modified techniques within a defined context.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical sub-systems (wet services) and equipment, determining possible component failure to enhance system capability.
  • Test all work and close off assigned job cards on maintenance and project work.
  • Interpret work instructions and drawings relating to construction, alterations, modifications, enhancement, maintenance, and operational projects.
  • Apply statutory principles to comply with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance on work done by external service providers for adherence to industry requirements and report to the supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports using standard templates (job cards and non-conformance reports), highlighting work completed and problem areas.
  • Engage positively with clients and other stakeholders, including dealing with complaints and compliments.
  • Address gaps in your own performance of tasks and activities against required standards.
  • Perform maintenance standby duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • National trade test certificate in plumbing;
  • NQF5 or N4 technical qualification or equivalent qualification;
  • Three to five years' experience in a technical trade environment as a plumber.
