Actuarial Manager Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager to join our Legacy and Product Management team at Old Mutual. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse set of retail solutions, ensuring they meet customer expectations and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the changing regulatory environment, customer needs, and market dynamics to inform ongoing product management.
  • Provide strategic input and product support to Old Mutual's business segments, working closely with partners to deliver customer promises and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of high-performing professionals, building a high-performance team culture.
  • Articulate product requirements to IT partners and ensure accurate output.
  • Focus on both savings and income products across mass market and middle-income segments.

Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary (exceptional candidates may be considered)
  • At least 10 years' experience
  • 2-3 years' management experience
  • Prior experience in Product management or development is advantageous
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, in an ambiguous environment with tight deadlines
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
