Business Analyst Job Description

Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team in the capital markets software industry. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing business needs, identifying solutions, and ensuring successful implementation of software solutions that meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes.
  • Technical Specifications: Work closely with development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and technology.
  • Gap Analysis: Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to identify the best solutions for business needs.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user manuals.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and deliverables.
  • Testing: Assist in the preparation and execution of test plans and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Training: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in the capital markets sector.
  • Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and trading platforms.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Business Analysis Tools: Proficiency in using business analysis tools and software.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Task Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Togaf Certification: Togaf Certification is highly advantageous.
Preferred Experience:
  • Capital Markets Software: Experience with capital markets software, such as Calypso.
  • SQL and Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and database management.
  • Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • BPM Experience: BPM Experience is highly advantageous.
