We are seeking a highly skilled Ombuds Officer to join our team at eThekwini Municipality.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating complaints regarding maladministration, abuse of power, and breaches of human rights. They will also identify instances of unethical conduct and implement awareness programs to promote workplace ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Identify areas for improvement in our policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs to promote workplace ethics.
  • Conduct research on best practices in forensic investigations and human rights.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Forensic Investigations or Law or Auditing or Policing or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Forensic Investigation or a related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Estimated salary: R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
