Property Law Specialist

A medium-sized legal firm operating in the Southern Cape region seeks a skilled Property Law Specialist to manage its branch in George/Knysna.

This attractive opportunity offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property transactions, including bonds and transfers. As a Property Law Specialist, you will be expected to:

• Conduct thorough title searches and review property documents to verify ownership and identify any encumbrances or legal issues.
• Draft and review contracts, deeds, and other legal documents related to property transactions.
• Foster effective communication and negotiations between buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and lenders.
• C coordinate with mortgage lenders to arrange financing and ensure all necessary documentation is in order.
• Manage the exchange of contracts and completion of property transactions, including the transfer of funds and registration of title deeds.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on matters related to property law, including rights and obligations.
• Resolve any legal issues or disputes that may arise during the conveyancing process.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Law.
• Admission as a Conveyancer.
• A minimum of one year's experience as a conveyancer, preferably with expertise in bank panel work.
• Excellent marketing and social skills.
• In-depth knowledge of property law, conveyancing procedures, and real estate transactions.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to review complex legal documents.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
