As an Impact Investments Analyst, you will assist the Chief Investment Officer and/or the Impact Investments Manager on specific projects, providing technical support and conducting research on potential investments that align with our impact investment objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities that meet our impact investment criteria.
  2. Collaborate with the Impact Investments Manager and/or the Chief Investment Officer on structuring new transactions, raising funding, and negotiating agreements with target companies.
  3. Perform due diligence processes on target companies and provide recommendations for investment decisions.
  4. Research industries that our investee companies operate in and identify areas for strategic investment.
  5. Contribute to quarterly reviews of our impact investment portfolio, preparing reports and analyzing financial information from investee companies.
  6. Assist with internal bi-annual valuations of our impact investments for inclusion in management accounts.
  7. Communicate effectively with Executives and take instructions as required.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should hold a CA (SA) or BCom/BSc Honours degree or be a CFA Charterholder/CFA (in progress).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in private equity, corporate finance, leveraged finance, asset management, impact investments, or management consulting.
  • Strong analytical skills complemented by research skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced FactSet or Thomson Reuters (Refinitiv) or Bloomberg Terminal operational capability.
  • Previous experience with valuations or due diligences is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
