Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipping Manager to join our team at Telebest. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the importation logistics process, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and coordinating with shipping and customs agents for clearance on delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Importation Logistics: Calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise to be imported from foreign destinations.
  • Customs Compliance: Monitor and complete paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international imports, ensuring adherence to customs regulations.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Receive stock onto ACC PAC, ensure all pricing structures are updated according to new exchange rates, and coordinate with shipping and customs agents for clearance on delivery.
  • Claims and Insurance: Handle claims with insurance companies in case of shipment problems.
  • Logistics Coordination: Provide efficient delivery logistics information through data management, compute international fees for each shipment, and keep track of shipment payments.
  • Customer Service: Act as a third-party service provider for customers, ensuring their goods are delivered using the correct mode of transport.
  • Reporting and Communication: Submit a weekly goods and transit report to management and keep updated with exchange rates, informing the CFO accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Matric or RPL.
  • Relevant degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • 6-month certificate in clearing and forwarding.
  • Knowledge of importation logistics, import and customs regulations, ACC PAC, MS Office (advanced excel), Blue link or Investec Import solutions, Import Tracking Software, and Advanced Arithmetic.
