Geriatric Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Geriatric Nurse to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our elderly patients. As a Geriatric Nurse, you will play a crucial role in being a specialized healthcare professional who provides comprehensive nursing care, promoting healthy aging, managing chronic conditions, and enhancing the overall well-being of our elderly.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of elderly patients, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial evaluations.
- Administering medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed, while ensuring patient safety and adherence to established protocols.
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and facilitating coping mechanisms.
- Advocating for patient rights and autonomy, ensuring their preferences and values are respected.
- Facilitating smooth transitions of care, coordinating referrals to specialists and community resources as needed.
- Complying with legal, ethical, and professional standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, empathy, compassion, and patience in working with elderly patients. Prior experience in geriatric or elderly care is highly desirable.
The estimated salary for this position is around $**80,000 - $110,000** per annum, depending on experience.
