Job Title: Banking and Investment Support Officer

Stonehage Fleming is seeking a highly skilled and organized Banking and Investment Support Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Banking and Investment Support team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a high-quality and consistent client service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Opening and closure of bank and investment accounts with core and non-core banks
  • Collaborating with financial institutions across various jurisdictions to establish client relationships
  • Maintaining bank and investment accounts, including adding or removing beneficiaries, settlors, or protectors, and granting powers of attorney
  • Managing E-Banking users lists
  • Handling client onboarding and offboarding
  • Transferring equities, bonds, mutual funds, and private placements between custodians, fund administrators, and private companies
  • Inputting data into our integrated database system to ensure up-to-date information
  • Responding to day-to-day queries from internal and external parties and resolving issues
  • Managing and executing business initiatives independently from inception to implementation
  • Performing relevant people management tasks
Investments:
  • Preparing subscription and redemption instructions for alternative investments, including single hedge funds, private equity funds, and property funds
  • Inputting non-automated investment transactions into our integrated database system
  • Keeping client investment accounting up to date, including line-by-line and non-automated records
  • Managing and executing instructions related to corporate actions, proxy votes, conversions, capital calls, and distributions
  • Collating KYC, FATCA, CRS, and compliance documentation for fund administrators and third parties
  • Preparing SWIFT payment instructions
  • Reconciling investment positions and resolving reconciliation breaks
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Appropriate degree or higher diploma and 2-3 years of experience in the financial industry
  • STEP qualifications or a good understanding of basic information regarding offshore trusts and companies, as well as the relationship between trusts and companies, trustees, and beneficiaries
  • Team management experience
  • Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and modern financial accounting packages
  • Knowledge and understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and multi-currency accounting
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial products
