Millwright - Gauteng

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team in Gauteng. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support to our operations team, ensuring optimum plant availability.

• Ensure the effective application of the Maintenance Information system (Service Manager) and maintain accurate asset records.
• Respond to breakdowns and prioritize jobs promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Perform routine services, repairs, and preventative maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment in a professional and cost-effective manner.
• Apply sound human resource principles and administration procedures to meet performance objectives.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards meet Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements and comply with ISO system standards.
• Manage stock levels and maintain high standards of monitoring and reporting on electro-mechanical plant condition.
• Assist with specifications, sourcing, quality control, and implementation of new electrical, mechanical, and civil installations.

• Qualified Millwright with apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Section 13 or 26D certificate required.
• Wireman's license (3 phase) preferred or studying towards.
• Five years' experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations, with a strong electrical background and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in SCADA and PLC control systems, as well as field control instrumentation, is an advantage.

• Instrumentation and controls aptitude and awareness beneficial.
• Operational and safety procedures, including safe tool use and hand tools.
• Maintain pertinent records and read, interpret, and understand data.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Basic understanding of OHS Act and its application.
• Knowledge of VSD applications and medium voltage switchgear operating and maintenance principles.
• 22KV overhead power line inspections and maintenance.

• Medically fit in line with client requirements.
• Work in a water treatment plant environment, exposed to noise, vibration, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, solvents, toxic materials, and hazardous chemicals within allowable exposure limits.
• Exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Perform moderate to heavy lifting, standing, and walking for prolonged periods.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Normal visual range with or without correction to read computer screens and printed documents.
• Normal audio range with or without correction.
• Must own a vehicle or have own method of transport.
• Be willing to travel and have own accommodation within the region.
• Standby duties after hours and over weekends.
