The South African National Blood Service is looking for a highly skilled Molecular Diagnostic Specialist to join their team in the Virology Reference Laboratory. As a key member of the laboratory, you will be responsible for performing molecular diagnostic tests and providing technical expertise to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify routine and specialized tests on all NAT and serology yield positive samples according to relevant algorithms.
  2. Perform required additional tests including Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT), routine Virology, and Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCR's).
  3. Verify and report results for all tests performed in the laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and experience working in a laboratory setting. A National Diploma in Biomedical Technology and HPCSA registration in Blood Transfusion or Virology are also required.
