Project Manager - 12 Month Contract

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (Grade 12)
  • Degree in Commerce or Administration
  • Business Analysis Certification (Optional)
  • Project Management Certification (Optional)
  • Experience in the financial services sector
  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the organization by continuously evaluating challenges and opportunities to ensure appropriate projects are prioritized and executed effectively.
  • Oversee project coordination to achieve objectives (timely delivery, budget adherence, and meeting requirements as per expectations of project sponsors and stakeholders).
  • This role may involve managing multiple projects of medium to high complexity:
  • Accountable for delivering the complete project scope by adhering to the Strategic Project Office methodology.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards of the Project Management methodology.
  • Optimize resource utilization within the delivery portfolio (resource management).
  • Manage risks and issues effectively.
  • Maintain ongoing stakeholder engagement and communication (serving as the primary contact throughout the project lifecycle).
  • When necessary, assess team members and project resources by identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Implement the Strategic Project Office methodology in practice.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements to the Strategic Project Office methodology based on project feedback.
  • Advocate for the methodology across the organization.
  • Manage Business Transition effectively, ensuring that changes resulting from projects are implemented with minimal disruption to operations.
  • This is achieved through:
    • Stakeholder analysis
    • Establishing project structure and team agreements
    • Developing a communication strategy
    • Implementing approaches that directly impact end users, including testing, training, and actual deployment while considering the operational environment.
  • Build and sustain strong relationship networks.
  • Conduct necessary controls within their own or other portfolios as required.
