Job Description

The Western Cape Government is seeking a highly skilled and competent individual to fill the position of Fleet Services Support Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing secretarial support services to the Director: Fleet Services, including administrative tasks, research, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Director, including preparing documents, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Rendereffective receptionist and communication services to stakeholders, including responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Assist with the administration of the Director's budget, including tracking expenses and preparing financial reports.
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant public service and departmental prescripts, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance and understanding thereof.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering support services to management/senior management, preferably in a government environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at different levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as database management and information systems.
