We are seeking a skilled Telescope Operations Engineer to join our team at Space in Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting MeerKAT telescope operations and users.

Main Responsibilities- Support telescope operations and users by assisting in proposal preparation, observation scheduling, and data reduction
- Contribute to the improvement of operations and scientific performance by maintaining telescope calibration and providing quality assurance and quality control
- Work closely with the engineering team to commission new observing modes and prepare technical reports
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a related field, and have experience in reduction and analysis of radio astronomy data. Knowledge of radio astronomy reduction software and programming skills in C/Python/shell scripts are required. Experience in widefield imaging and spectropolarimetry would be beneficial.
