About the Role

The Transmission Control Center Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the bulk electric system. As a key member of the Georgia Transmission Control Center team, you will provide technical analysis and subject matter expertise in multiple areas.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include conducting system operation planning studies using Power Network Analysis (PNA) and Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE) to evaluate near-term, one-month-out, and long-term clearances associated with maintenance and construction projects. You will also provide daily support to the System Operator by performing contingency modeling and analysis as needed, and assist with restoration efforts during storms, Energy Emergency Alerts, and significant system events.

In addition, you will facilitate completion of major maintenance and construction projects by working cooperatively with generating plants, TMCs, ITS Participants, PCC, and other stakeholders. You will also develop and maintain operational plans and guidance for system emergencies, including black-start and manual load shedding procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct system operation planning studies using Power Network Analysis (PNA) and Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSSE)
