We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team at FACT. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment, including air conditioning units, heating systems, and refrigeration equipment.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair all HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot malfunctions in mechanical processes, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze and interpret data from system sensors and controls, making adjustments as necessary to maintain system balance and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating moving parts, replacing filters, and checking fluid levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new installation procedures and maintenance protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, sharing knowledge with colleagues to enhance overall team performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, reporting any incidents or near-misses to management.
- Document all project activities, including maintenance records, system upgrades, and equipment repairs.
- Higher National Diploma / National Diploma / Diploma from a Technikon or university of technology accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the SAQC.
- N3-N6 / Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the SAQC.
- Professional Engineering Technician / Equivalent Field experience accredited by Engineering Council of South Africa.
- Valid and Recognized Trade test accredited by Engineering Council of South Africa.
- Relevant experience: 6 years or more of experience in maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC and refrigeration systems in data centers or large industrial facilities.
- System experience: Experience in operations and maintenance in a data center environment is preferred; familiarity with major HVAC brands (such as MUNTERS / VIKING, CIAT MAGISTER 2, LIEBERT, STULZ, LG) and refrigeration equipment is preferred.
