Reliable Infrastructure Engineer

An experienced Reliable Infrastructure Engineer is sought to join the team of Datafin Recruitment, a leading provider of recruitment solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure, collaborating with Development teams, and driving continuous improvement in system operations.
Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure using cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-premises environments.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to detect and respond to system issues promptly, ensuring high uptime and minimal downtime.
• Lead incident response efforts, perform root cause analysis, and develop and deploy automation tools to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve system reliability.
• Analyse system performance metrics and make recommendations to improve application and infrastructure performance, ensuring optimal resource utilization and efficiency.
• Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements by implementing best practices and conducting regular audits, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
• Collaborate closely with Development teams to ensure new features and services are scalable, reliable, and maintainable, aligning with business goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery plans, including data backups and system redundancy strategies, minimizing potential losses and disruptions.
• Identify areas for improvement in the existing infrastructure, propose, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field, demonstrating expertise in infrastructure management, automation, and performance optimization.
• Extensive experience with cloud services such as OCI, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, showcasing proficiency in cloud migration, deployment, and management.
• Proficiency in Scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and Configuration Management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet), ensuring seamless integration and automation of processes.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Wazuh) and logging systems (ELK stack, Splunk, Elastic), providing real-time insights and facilitating informed decision-making.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring secure and efficient network operations.
• Experience with Containerization (Docker) and Orchestration tools (Kubernetes), promoting agility and flexibility in application development and deployment.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, streamlining the software development process and enhancing collaboration.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration, ensuring robust and secure operating system management.
• Experience with IT Service Management platforms, optimizing and supporting tools like JIRA, Freshdesk, and promoting effective service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, demonstrating expertise and commitment to professional development.
• Programming experience in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Ruby, showcasing versatility and adaptability in software development.
• Database management experience, ensuring efficient and secure data storage and retrieval.
• Prior experience working in high-traffic environments, highlighting ability to handle complex and dynamic systems.
