Job Title: Mechanician/Millwright

Join the Tolcon Group (Pty) Ltd team as a skilled Mechanician/Millwright, responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment at our toll plazas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including generators, UPSs, access control systems, and CCTV systems.
  • Conduct daily and monthly inspections and preventative maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, access control, CCTV equipment and buildings at the plaza.
  • Perform fault finding and repair malfunctioning equipment and buildings as per the maintenance manual.
  • Supervise work done at Plazas by subcontractors to ensure scope of work is correct, quality of work is acceptable, and compliance with health and safety legislation and policies and procedures.
  • Assess asset utilisation and consequent capex requirements, manage and deliver on succession plans, and utilise regular communication channels and team meetings to promote continuous improvement and best practice.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate and qualified artisan in Mechanician or Millwright.
  • At least 8 years related experience.
  • Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License.
  • Fluent in English, excellent communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills, self-management, and basic computer literacy skills.
Work Environment:
  • The daily physical demands are those required to work on the route, inside, outside and on top of buildings/ladders.
  • The Technician must drive a motor vehicle on public roads.
  • A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed.
